Meatfest, the annual BBQ-based festival hosted by the Barclay Family, and sponsored by The Mayor's office, is back June 11th @ the corner of Patricia and Claude Ave. This year is BYOB&B&B with a twist! Meatley the Meatpig would like to remind you of our motto- Bring your own Burgers, Buns and Beer!, however The Soo family has donated a significant amount of meat to the event, along with Personal grills and seasonings, on a first-come, first-serve basis. We look forward to trying everyone's new recipes, and good luck to the competitors of this year's Mouth-melting Spice gauntlet.
Q: What is Meatfest?
A: Meatfest is an annual potluck hosted by the Barclay family! Come grill up your favorite recipes to share with the town, meet Meatley the Meatpig, and enjoy the atmosphere of Pickle Lake’s favorite yearly tradition!
Q: Where is Meatfest?
A: The same answer it’s always been- On the corner of Pickle Lake Road and Anne St South, in front of the Police Department.
Q: Will Meatley be approachable this year?
A: Yes, we successfully retrieved the Meatley suit and a respected and responsible wearer will be Meatley this year.
Q: Will I have to pay for the food?
A: Meatfest has always been a first-come first-serve potluck, and always “BYOBBB”, though once again this year’s celebration is kindly sponsored by the Soo family, and everyone is entitled to one of each dish. Please still bring your own alcohol
Q: Are there really two Extreme competitions this year?
A: No, the only Extreme competition is the Spice gauntlet, the same recurring challenge we have seen every year. Rumors of “The Sour Olympics” are rumors and nothing more. We urge you to deny anyone asking you if you’re capable of “Going for gold”.
